I used the burn and sponge tools to change the first pictures appearance. On the text I used the pattern overlay. I then used the sharpen edges filter on the first layer, I also used the wind tool on layer 2 and the lighting affects on the background image.

On this image I used the burn and blur tools to make the photo darker and make the background look like there was a lot of action. For the text layer I used bevel and emboss. The first filter I used was the zig zag filter on layer 3, next I used the sharpen edges on the background and last I used the photocopy effect on layer 1.
